This is a refugee social interaction project, and its website contains information on cultural mediation and guidelines for intercultural best practice in local service provision.
Canal Communities Partnership- Canal
The website of this Dublin-based partnership contains a link to “Step by Step: an information resource for members of the new communities”, which provides information on accessing education in Ireland for different categories of students.
Citizens Information Services- Citizens
This website provides information on public service information (including education) for Ireland, in English, Irish, Polish, Romanian, and French.
Crosscare- Crosscare
This organisation offers advice to migrants and international students in Ireland. The advice includes information on the education system, and a useful booklet containing such information has been published in many languages.
Immigrant Council of Ireland- ICI
This website provides a host of information for migrants in Ireland. Included in this is information for international students who are parents, and the rights of international students in Ireland (this is available in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese and Russian).
Integrating Ireland- Integrating
This website contains a link to the organisation’s 2004 publication “A Guide to Published Research on Refugees, Asylum-Seekers and Immigrants in Ireland”. Irish Immigrant Support Centre (NASC)- NASC
NASC is based in Cork city, and provides a range of information and services for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. This includes assisting them to access education.
Irish Traveller Movement (Yellow Flag Programme for schools)- ITM
This website provides information on the "Yellow Flag" programme for schools, designed to foster diversity and understanding in schools with local Travellers, migrants and minorities.
Jesuit Refugee Service- JRS
This website contains information about the work of the JRS and resources which may be useful to both parents and teachers; information on the Irish education system in several languages, country notes, and translated standard school letter templates.
National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA)- NALA
NALA is concerned with developing policy, advocacy, research and offering advisory services in adult literacy. It recently reviewed its role in ESOL, and decided that its specific focus would be on ESOL literacy, specifically for ESOL Learners who do not read and write fluently in any language. National Youth Council of Ireland- Youth
This is a representative body for national voluntary youth organisations. Part of its work is the promotion of an intercultural and anti-racist approach to youth work in Ireland. It aims to promote interaction, understanding, respect and integration between different cultures, ethnic and religious groups.
It also operates a separate, development education website, with details of its development education programme, which is run in partnership with Irish Aid. This website explains major issues in development education, and has a number of resource and activity packs, as well as current information about activities and events:

NYCI has developed a diversity toolkit for the sector, based on self- assessment. It enables youth leaders to determine the level of equality and inclusion in their programmes and includes practical tips showing how to improve equality and inclusion for a wide range of young people who have diverse lives and identities. One World Centres- Galway Waterford
One World offers courses in development education at all levels- from primary to third level, and encompassing community and youth work. There are centres in Galway and Waterford, and these links are provided above.
Pavee Point (EdeNn)- Pavee point
This organisation advocates for Travellers in various areas. Part of the organisation's work is the Early Childhood Project, which offers advice, information and training on diversity and equality issues to organisations, training colleges and service providers. It also contains information on EDENN (the Equality and Diversity Early Childhood National Network), which aims to consult on priority issues in early childhood education, develop new resources, and to develop and inform policy interests.
Roma Education Fund- Education
The Roma Education Fund aims to close the gap in educational outcomes between Roma and non-Roma, and provides scholarships and funding. The website contains information on the application procedures, as well as research projects and recent news.
SPIRASI- Spirasi
This organisation works with asylum seekers, refugees and other disadvantaged migrant groups, to enable access to specialist services to promote well-being and encourage self-reliance and integration into Ireland. The website provides details of the education services offered by Spirasi, which include language courses and art and media skills.
Spirasi has developed the "Cultural Profiles Project", desiged as a basic and easy to use reference for those working in the health services, to quickly obtain relevant information on a person's country of origin or cultural background. It can also be used by those seeking more information on different countries and cultures, and is available on Spirasi's website.
Sport Against Racism Ireland (SARI)- SARI
SARI is an organisation working to combat racism through sport. Part of its work involves working with schools, and further details can be found on its website.
Third Age Foundation- Third Age
This is a voluntary organisation run by older members of the population, offering a range of services. These include English language classes for migrants, through the Fáilte Isteach project. The project is being rolled out throughout the country, and further details are available on the organisation’s website.
Turkish Irish Educational and Cultural Society (TIECS)- Tiecs
This is a voluntary organisation which offers classes in the Turkish language. Further details can be found on the website.
