"Irish Argentinian Ties - Saoirse, Saoirse, Saoirse!"
Audio visual exhibition to honour ties between Ireland and Argentina. This is the bicentennial of the May Revolution in Argentina, regarded as the starting point of the Spanish American wars to win independence from Spain. Admiral Brown, born in Mayo, is honoured as the founder of the Argentinian navy and a hero in Latin America for his success against the Spanish navy.
The Mayor of Kerry Mr Bobby O'Connell will be the guest of Honour to open the bicentennial event at 10:30 am on 25th May.

Africa Day was first marked on May 25, 1963 with the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was transformed into the African Union (AU) in 2002. Community initiatives throughout the country will organise events that build a positive image of Africa and its diversity in Ireland. So far, events have been organised in 15 counties to take place between 16th and 31st May.

Hugo Hamilton will give a talk (in English) about the diaries kept by his German mother throughout her life in Ireland and how they form a template for his latest novel "Hand in the Fire". The diaries, which have now been acquired by the National Library of Ireland, offer an intriguing view into the life of an immigrant woman living in Ireland and the shaping of the writer’s own life and work.

An Irish-Bulgarian Modern Art Exhibition
A unique Irish-Bulgarian exhibition reflecting ancient Celtic and Thracian symbols in contemporary paintings, paper art and sculptures. The exhibition “Thracian and Celtic Symbols” is a joint Irish-Bulgarian cultural project designed and created by artists Daniela Todorova, Tommy Barr and Todor Todorov. The project explores similarities and parallels between early Thracian and pre-Celtic art.

Show Racism the Red Card Summer Camp
This camp is an Intercultural learning and fun experience for boys and girls aged 11yrs to 16yrs from Ireland (north and south), for Irish and non-Irish nationals. The cost is €175 and includes return transport. Young people will have the opportunity to learn languages, games, songs, dances and many aspects of different cultures. The purpose of the camp is to bring young people from different backgrounds together, to promote intercultural learning and integration as well as to have a memorable fun experience.
