EPIC Programme

OMI funds the Employment of People from Immigrant Communities Programme (EPIC) administered by Business in the Community and eligible for 50% co-financing from the European Social Fund (ESF).

What is EPIC?

The EPIC Programme is individual specific, profiling the individual employment needs of each participant through a six week training module focusing on professional English for employment, interview, life and work skills.

Following this, individual assistance is provided to participants by Training and Employment Officers to help the participants in finding work or further training.

In the period 2006 - 2007, the EPIC Programme targeted the employment needs of the parents of Irish-born children.

In the period 2008-2010, its focus is the employment needs and training requirements of legally resident EU and non-EU adults who are permitted to work in Ireland and aims to assist them with securing employment, training and education. In 2009, OMI provided approximately €0.5 million for this purpose.
